Hi everyone,
Mom wanted me to update you on whats been happening to me since we see so many of my peeps going through the same thing i did.
Its day 11, post op and I “officially” pee’d on a fence while hiking my right leg. Ok, i did lean a tiny bit on the fence but not much. Mom was so happy i thought she was gonna tinkle herself.
I had to go back to the Dr. Yesterday cuz i started developing sores. Doc said my skin has allergies and I just needed a bath. Ugh. But, i did feel so much better. Staples come out Friday, Yeah! I also have lost some weight, which is really hard for us pugs.
I have also ran a couple times. Sometimes my legs go so fast, it scares me and i stumble but i haven’t done a true face plant since day 2. Ya outta see Mom snd Dad running after me, funny, really funny.
If you’re reading this, you need to know the following:
1. You will be normal again but give it time.
2. Mom and Dad, i’ll be ok cuz I have you. Together we are strong.
3. One day at a time
Thats it. Simple huh.
Hang in there my friends, will talk soon.
Romeo the Pug
My Otis leaned up against the house to pee the first couple of times, and even as a more experienced tripawd, he would frequently position himself so that he could lean against the tree or whatever else he was marking. Sounds like you are doing great, Romeo! Once the staples come out, you will feel even better, and will get that running thing down!
Hi there Otis and Tess,
My first name is Otis, Otis Romeo Jake Zerby to be exact. Mom was going to call me Otis but then I put my magic moves on her and she said I was definitely a Romeo.
That leaning thing worked on the fence but when I went for my walk today, (Puggy Buggy kinda thing) the bushes do not do their job like the fence and I stumbled. Made me so aggravated that I just refused to pee pee altogether. I think I kinda agitated my Mom but I did go poop so I got my treat when I got home.
Mom says I my get to go on a road trip in the Fall and get some Eddie wheels. Do you have wheels Otis? If so, do you like them? I’m not sure there my style but time will tell.
Thank you for the encouraging words, they help so much.
Remember I think ya’ll are PAWSOME!!!

Thank you Ms. Sally, Hannah, Myrtle and Frankie,
I really was glad to see your comment. I’m trying to get a “new” normal going but I also know I have to be patient. Mom’s been working with me on that element (patience) for 10 years with my treats but i am finally starting to understand what she means.
Mom is trying to learn how to navigate to yours, as well as others pages, she’s struggling but she’s persistent so I hope I see some pics soon of all my new friends.
Thank you too for the compliments. Mom thinks I’m adorable and a few of my lady pals, like Princess and Gucci, have recently given me kisses, so I’m feeling more confident every day.
Matter of fact, this surgery gig ain’t so bad, getting lots of kisses.
Love and hugs to you and the girls, and Frankie too.
Romeo, the SuperPug and Mom
Wise words my pal. We all learn as you go and you’re doing a great job of that (so are your peeps!). Thanks for sharing the wisdom and congrats on the fence pee!
Thanks Jerry. I could never have come this far without all the encouragement and PAWSOME advice for my Mom and Dad without this website! Mom is still struggling with getting around the website but I promise, she will get it.
